Disclosures and Disclaimer

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version: some links on The Bake-Keeper are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the shop may pay us a small commission. It never costs you anything extra, it never changes what I recommend, and I tell you on every page where it applies. Here is the longer version.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a normal link to a merchant’s website with a tracking code attached. When you click it, the merchant’s network sets a cookie in your browser so that, if you buy within that merchant’s attribution window (usually 24 hours to 90 days depending on the program), the merchant knows the referral came from this site and pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay the same price you would have paid by typing the merchant’s address yourself.

Programs we take part in

The Bake-Keeper, LLC participates in, or is in the process of joining, affiliate programs run directly by merchants and through affiliate networks. These may include the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, Awin, Impact, Refersion, Bookshop.org, FlexOffers, Rakuten Advertising, and CJ Affiliate, as well as direct programs run by individual baking brands and retailers. The exact list changes as programs are added or dropped. The disclosure note on each page tells you that page contains affiliate links.

Links to Amazon are affiliate links, and the pages that carry them say so. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

How I choose what to recommend

I recommend tools, ingredients, and books because I use them in my own South Florida kitchen or have tested them for a specific guide, not because of the commission. Whether a product has an affiliate program never decides whether it appears here. It only decides whether the link to it earns anything. When a product I recommend has no affiliate program, I link to it anyway. When something has a real drawback (a lid knob that is not oven-safe, a banneton that molds in humidity, a scale that shuts off mid-recipe), I say so in the guide, commission or not.

Where you will see disclosures

Every page or post that contains affiliate links carries a short disclosure note above the first link, in addition to this page. Recipe posts show it at the top of the Ingredients and Equipment section. Equipment guides, the Shop, and the Gift Guide show it near the top of the page. Newsletter issues and social posts that contain affiliate links say so in the message itself.

Prices, availability, and discount codes

Any price range mentioned in a guide is my own general note about what an item usually costs and is not a quote from the merchant. Prices and availability are set by the merchant and can change at any time. The price shown on the merchant’s site at checkout is the one that applies. If a merchant gives us a discount code for readers, the code is shown next to the link and the same commission rules apply when you use it.

Your privacy

Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a third-party website whose privacy practices are its own. Our site also records anonymous click events (which link, on which page) in our analytics so we can see which guides are useful. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer

The Bake-Keeper is a personal baking website. Everything here, including recipes, techniques, equipment opinions, business and pricing examples, and summaries of food, labeling or cottage food rules, is general information based on my own experience in a South Florida home kitchen. It is not legal, tax, accounting, food-safety or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your situation.

Laws and regulations differ between states, counties and cities, and they change. Where this site describes a rule, it reflects my understanding at the time the page was written and may be out of date. Always confirm current requirements with the relevant agency (in Florida, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) and with your local authorities before you act on anything here.

Any costs, prices, margins or earnings shown on this site are examples used to explain a method. They are not quotes, forecasts or promises, and your results will depend on your own costs, market and effort.

Nutrition information on recipes is an automated estimate from the ingredient list and will vary with the products you use and your portion size. If you have a medical condition, allergy or dietary restriction, consult a professional.

I do my best to keep this site accurate, but I make no warranty that it is complete, current or error-free, and I am not liable for any loss arising from reliance on it. If you spot something out of date, please tell me through the contact page and I will fix it.
