Let's Get You Baking

I'm Desi, a CPA who fell hard for sourdough, and now I write the recipes I wish someone had handed me when I started. No jargon, no gatekeeping, just what actually works in a real home kitchen. Here's the fastest way to find your next step.

Never made sourdough before?

Start with the starter. It’s the one thing every loaf depends on, and I’ll walk you through it one short email a day.

Quick answers, fast

Feeding schedule confusion? Dense loaf? Sticky dough? Most first-week problems are answered in Sourdough Troubleshooting, or just check the FAQ.

Free tools worth bookmarking

The Sourdough Calculator (recalculate any recipe’s ratios), Printable Quicksheets (six one-page references), and the Feeding & Discard Log. All free, no email required. Swapping an ingredient mid-recipe? Check the Substitutions Guide. Building out your kitchen? See the Equipment Guide.

How this site is organized

The site has two halves. Recipes live in categories such as Beginner Loaves and Discard Recipes, and every recipe gives grams and a dough temperature to aim for. Guides live in four education categories: Starter 101, Sourdough Troubleshooting, Sourdough Science and Sourdough on a Real Schedule. The Academy holds free printable cheat sheets, and the calculator and schedule finder do the arithmetic for you.

I am a CPA, so I like numbers, and I write for home kitchens, including hot and humid ones like mine in South Florida. If you are unsure where to begin, open Starter 101 or Beginner Loaves and read the first post. If you have never made sourdough, the starter email course above gives you one short step a day.
